Retreats
Created by a widow, for widows (and their dearest friends). These intimate retreats are spaces to rest, reconnect, and rediscover yourself in the company of women who understand.
Where every story is seen, honored, and surrounded by understanding.
hello there!
I’m so glad you’re here. As a solo mom of two wonderful sons, a widow, and someone who has walked the path of grief, I deeply understand the importance of healing—especially after the loss of a loved one. My husband passed away unexpectedly, and that experience left me grappling with a loss I never anticipated at such a young age. It’s been a journey, one that has shaped who I am today, and I’m passionate about helping others navigate similar journeys through solo and group retreats, special events, and pilgrimages.
Over the years, I’ve gone on countless retreats—both solo and with others. Each experience has been transformative, helping me heal, find clarity, and connect deeply with myself. One of my favorite memories is a pilgrimage I took to Oaxaca to celebrate Día de los Muertos. The experience was not just a chance to explore a beautiful culture, but also an opportunity to honor my grief, celebrate my husband’s life, and reconnect with my spirit.
Healing is a personal journey, and I now guide widows and widowers through this path via retreats. Whether it's in solitude or in community, these retreats are designed to help you step outside the pain, find moments of stillness, and reconnect with your inner strength. I believe that time spent reflecting in meaningful spaces can help you exhale, remember, and reimagine your life.
In addition to my work as a retreat facilitator, my professional background includes a BA in Liberal Arts and a Master's in Public Administration. I’ve spent many years working with nonprofits, helping people create positive change in their communities, and I’m deeply inspired by the power of connection and shared experiences.
When I’m not guiding retreats or planning my next adventure, you’ll find me having movie nights with my sons, spending time with my Siberian Husky, and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my best friends. I love my daily chats with my sisters and mom, and I’m always dreaming about my next travel experience. For me, travel has been more than just seeing new places; it’s helped me find beauty in the world, build confidence, and develop a deeper sense of gratitude. It’s given me the space to step outside my grief, while still honoring my journey as a widow.
If you’re looking for a way to heal, reconnect with yourself, and step into a new chapter of your life, I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we’ll find peace, healing, and beauty through travel, retreat, and reflection.
Let’s begin this healing path, together.
With warmth and gratitude,
Tavona xoxo

Why Retreats
Because even after loss, life still calls to us.
When you’ve experienced deep grief, it can feel like time has stopped — yet the world keeps moving. The truth is, healing isn’t about leaving the past behind. It’s about learning how to carry love forward, and finding new ways to breathe, connect, and belong.
I created these retreats because I’ve been there. As a widow, I know what it’s like to lose your footing and wonder who you are now. I also know how powerful it is to sit in a circle of women who just get it — women who listen without judgment, who laugh through tears, and who remind you that you are still whole.
These retreats are your invitation to pause.
To be seen. To rest. To remember your strength.
You don’t need to do this alone. Healing happens best together.
What I Offer
Each retreat is an intimate, intentional experience designed to nourish your heart and spirit. Every detail — from the setting to the conversations — is thoughtfully curated to create safety, connection, and renewal.
Your experience includes:
Guided Circles & Reflections – Honest, tender conversations that honor grief and celebrate growth.
Healing Practices – Gentle workshops, mindfulness, creative expression, and time in nature.
Rest & Restoration – Cozy accommodations, nourishing meals, and unhurried time to simply be.
Connection & Companionship – Designed for widows and their closest friends to heal together, deepening bonds through shared understanding.
Coaching & Personal Insight – Optional small-group or 1:1 sessions to help you explore what’s next with confidence and care.
These are not retreats about “moving on.”
They are about moving forward — with love, courage, and community.
What You’ll Take Home
When you return home, you’ll carry more than memories.
You’ll carry a quiet strength and a deeper sense of peace.
You’ll leave with:
Renewed energy and calm, knowing it’s okay to feel joy again.
Meaningful friendships with women who will continue to walk beside you.
Clarity and tools to nurture yourself as life continues to unfold.
A heart that feels a little lighter, and a spirit ready to hope again.
You’re Ready — The Time Is Now
You’ve given so much of yourself to others. This is your moment to receive.
To breathe. To heal. To rediscover the woman you are becoming.
You deserve rest. You deserve renewal. You deserve to feel whole again.

Intimate Dinners for Widows & Their Friends
This is not just dinner — it’s a moment.
A moment to breathe, to feel, to connect. Inspired by my travels and the shared stories of widows and their closest friends, these gatherings were created to nourish the soul as much as the body. Around the table, there’s room for everything — laughter and tears, storytelling and silence, reflection and joy.
We share beautiful food, hold hands when words fall short, and sit in the warmth of community that understands. Each dinner unfolds in a thoughtfully chosen setting — cozy, elegant, and full of heart — where every woman is seen, held, and celebrated.
It’s more than a meal; it’s a reminder that love endures, healing happens in connection, and moments like these stay with you long after the last candle flickers out.
