about tavona givens
I am a strategic, solutions-driven Black woman leader with a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Washington and more than a decade of experience strengthening mission-driven organizations across nonprofit, school district, and government sectors. My consulting practice is rooted in the belief that when organizations are equipped with clarity, capacity, and culturally responsive strategies, they are able to deliver deeper, more equitable impact.
As a skilled facilitator and project manager, I specialize in organizational development, capacity building, and community-centered strategy. My work supports leaders and teams in refining their vision, improving internal systems, and navigating complex environments—particularly those historically challenging for organizations serving communities of color. I partner closely with executive leaders, boards, and staff to co-design solutions that are practical, actionable, and grounded in each organization’s unique culture and values.
My professional journey has always been anchored in service—advocating for marginalized communities, elevating the voices of children and women, and advancing equity across systems. I bring a steady, intentional approach to every engagement, helping organizations build strength from within while preparing for sustainable, long-term success.
Alongside my consulting work, I bring a deeply personal and transformative lens to the world of healing. Widowed young, I rebuilt my life with intention and courage. I am a mother of two boys, a dog mom, a trained massage therapist, and a Reiki master—identities that inform my understanding of resilience, leadership, and what it means to navigate profound change.
Grief did not end my story; it reshaped it. This led me to found a travel collective for women grieving or navigating significant loss. These experiences—part retreat, part ceremony, part communal restoration—offer intentional spaces where guests are supported, seen, and held.
From wreath-making workshops to immersive forest dinners to curated international journeys, each offering is designed with care, cultural awareness, and a deep respect for the ancestral practices of mourning and renewal.
In these spaces, grief is not treated as a deficit or a disruption—it is honored as an initiation. A return to self. A path forward.
